Aster DM Healthcare to Build a Dh350 Million Hospital in Dubai Studio City, Its 12th in the UAE

Aster DM Healthcare will develop Medcare Royal Hills Hospital in Dubai Studio City at an investment of around AED 350 million, its 12th hospital in the UAE, with 144 beds, six operating theatres and a comprehensive oncology centre, opening by 2029.

Aster DM Healthcare has signed a partnership agreement with MENASCO to develop Medcare Royal Hills Hospital in Dubai Studio City, with an approximate investment of AED 350 million. The hospital will become the group’s 12th in the UAE and the seventh hospital under its premium Medcare brand.

The multi-specialty tertiary-care hospital will have 144 beds and six operating theatres, and is expected to begin operations by 2029. With a gross floor area of approximately 239,000 sq ft and a built-up area of around 430,000 sq ft, it will serve Dubai’s growing residential communities in and around Studio City.

Cancer care at the centre

A key feature will be a comprehensive oncology centre, offering medical, surgical and radiation oncology, supported by a linear accelerator, PET-CT, gamma scanning, iodine therapy and chemotherapy. The centre will also have a dedicated breast care diagnostic, apheresis unit and treatment unit, with long-term plans to include bone marrow transplantation.

The hospital will also offer specialised immunology and haematology services, advanced cardiology and cardiac surgery supported by a catheterisation laboratory, and neurology and spine services. Robotic-assisted surgery will further strengthen its surgical offering.

The hospital will also have a dedicated paediatric intensive care unit and an emergency department with 18 observation beds, including trauma care. Women’s health services will include a dedicated labour, delivery and recovery suite with a water birth unit.

“Over the past 40 years, we have remained committed to building world-class healthcare institutions that serve the evolving needs of the UAE’s population. Medcare Royal Hills Hospital is yet another reflection of this commitment.”

Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare

“Medcare’s growth has always been guided by one clear purpose: to bring high-quality healthcare closer to the people and communities we serve. Our partnership with MENASCO is an important step in expanding Medcare’s footprint in Dubai and making advanced specialised and tertiary care more accessible.”

Part of a Dh1 billion expansion

The investment forms part of Aster DM Healthcare’s commitment to invest more than AED 1 billion in the UAE over the next five years. The group announced two new Dubai hospitals earlier in 2026, in Studio City and Discovery Gardens, adding more than 250 beds to its current capacity of around 920 beds in the UAE.

The expansion also includes a new annex at Aster Hospital Al Qusais, adding 122 beds at an investment of AED 300 million, expected to be operational by the end of 2028. Aster has also agreed to invest in International Modern Hospital in Dubai’s Al Mankhool area, a deal that remains subject to regulatory approvals and would add 116 beds and 39 outpatient clinics.

Care is moving closer to home

The hospital matters because of where it sits. Studio City and the surrounding communities have grown fast, and their residents have had to travel across Dubai for tertiary care.

A 144-bed hospital with cancer treatment, cardiac surgery and an emergency department puts that care inside the neighbourhood.

The oncology centre is the real test. A full cancer pathway, from screening to radiation and follow-up, with bone marrow transplantation planned, is a service Dubai’s private hospitals have been building towards for years.

If Medcare Royal Hills delivers it by 2029, it will set the standard other new hospitals are measured against.
