Legal
Privacy Policy
Qojo Media (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates qojomedia.ae, an independent publication covering the companies, people, capital, and ideas shaping the Middle East. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
- Information you give us. When you subscribe to our newsletter, contact us, submit a tip, or comment on a story, you share details such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
- Information collected automatically. When you visit qojomedia.ae, our servers and analytics tools record your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and time spent on the site.
- Cookies. We use cookies to remember your preferences, keep members signed in to their accounts, understand how readers use the site, and measure the performance of our content. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
How we use your information
- To send you the Qojo Brief newsletter and membership communications you signed up for.
- To respond to editorial queries, tips, and other messages you send us.
- To operate, maintain, and improve qojomedia.ae.
- To understand readership trends so we can publish more of what our audience values.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect the security of our platform.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Member accounts
You can create a free Qojo Media account to save articles and personalise your reading. When you create an account, we collect your full name and email address. Sign-in works with a one-time verification code sent to your email, so there is no password to remember. Verification codes are sent from no-reply@qojomedia.ae, expire after 10 minutes, and can be used only once.
Inside your account you may add a profile picture, choose your interests from our sections, and tell us your country. When you save an article, it is stored against your account so you can find it later in your dashboard. We use this information to sign you in, to show your saved articles, to personalise your experience on the site, and to respond to subscription requests you send us.
When you are signed in, essential cookies keep your session active for up to 14 days so you do not need a new code on every visit. These cookies are required for the account to work and are not used for advertising.
You can update your profile at any time from your dashboard. You can also delete your account from the Profile Settings tab, which permanently removes your profile, profile picture, and saved articles.
Sharing of information
We share information only where necessary: with service providers who help us run the site (such as email delivery and analytics providers) under strict confidentiality obligations, when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of Qojo Media and our readers.
Embedded content and third-party links
Our articles may include embedded content from third-party platforms, such as LinkedIn posts and videos, and links to external websites. These platforms may collect data about you according to their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.
Data retention
We keep your information only for as long as needed for the purposes described above. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, after which we remove their address from our mailing list. Member account information is kept for as long as the account remains active, and deleting an account removes the member’s profile and saved articles permanently.
Your rights
Account holders can review and update most profile information directly in their dashboard. You may also request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, write to us at editorial@qojomedia.ae and we will respond promptly.
Children’s privacy
Qojo Media is a business publication intended for a professional audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date of the latest revision shown at the top.
