M42’s Healthpoint Taps Proximie to Bring AI Into Its Abu Dhabi Operating Rooms

Healthpoint, part of M42, will deploy Proximie's real-time surgical intelligence across its Abu Dhabi operating rooms.

Healthpoint, part of the M42 Group, has partnered with Proximie to bring real-time surgical intelligence into its main operating rooms in Abu Dhabi. We are tracking the move because it puts AI directly inside the operating room, not in a report read afterwards.

The collaboration follows a memorandum of understanding signed during the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026. Healthpoint will be the first hospital within the M42 network to implement the technology, which is intended for use across all of its operating rooms and surgical procedures.

Proximie’s AI models, supported by the secure cloud and AI infrastructure of Amazon Web Services, are designed to understand each surgical phase as the day unfolds, and to predict and guide what comes next. The platform captures and analyses each stage of a case as it happens, automatically and ambiently, so teams can track surgical lists as they progress, spot emerging delays and adjust plans during the day.

For Healthpoint’s clinical and operational teams, the practical payoff is earlier warning of delays, more accurate theatre scheduling and faster, data-informed decisions about operating-room capacity. The platform is also meant to strengthen coordination among surgical, anaesthesia, nursing and perioperative teams, and to make surgical journeys more predictable for patients.

Through this collaboration, we aim to give our teams a real-time view of surgical activity. This technology will help them anticipate challenges earlier, coordinate care more effectively and plan with greater confidence.

said Omar Al Naqbi, Chief Executive Officer of Healthpoint.

Operating rooms generate valuable information throughout every surgical day, but much of it has historically been captured manually or reviewed after the fact. Our surgical intelligence platform turns that information into real-time intelligence, helping teams anticipate how the day will run and direct the right next step to the right team at the right moment.

said Dr Nadine Hachach-Haram, Founder and CEO of Proximie.

The partnership sits in a wider wave of AI entering Gulf operating rooms, and it advances M42’s push toward anticipatory healthcare, where data flags a problem before it becomes a delay. The patient-facing promise is simpler. Fewer avoidable delays and a smoother path from preparation through to recovery.

By identifying pressure points earlier, Healthpoint can also make better use of available theatre time and treat more patients using its existing operating-room capacity. Outcomes here could inform wider use of the technology across the M42 network.

Deployment will cover all operating rooms at Healthpoint. If the system delivers on its promise, the operating room schedule becomes something teams can steer during the day, rather than reconstruct at the end of it.
